Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the new VASTA state chapter website has just been launched! The address is www.vastaweb.org. Please visit it soon and often. As a string teacher, professional or amateur player, orchestra conductor, or student, we hope that this site will in time become the first place you check when you need help or information about string-related events in Virginia. For business owners who serve the needs of the string playing and teaching community, we are confident that this site will enable you to reach a wider audience for your goods and services.
Besides keeping members informed and enlightened, the website also opens up a whole new world of opportunities for the professional community. VASTA will now be able to list resources for members and non-members alike. But if you want your program to stand out from the rest, you now can do this at a very reasonable cost! VASTA members are entitled to a significant discount for advertising. The new fee table of advertising rates can be found below.
All funds for advertising will go towards building, administering, and improving the site, while any profits will go towards supporting future VASTA events and services.
Businesses and schools who currently advertise in the Fingerboard will be offered a special “package deal.”
The new site features our Home Page, Calendar of Events, Board Members’ profiles and contact information, Members Page, Certificate Program page, current and archived Newsletters, Resources page plus numerous useful links. In the coming months we will be adding a member directory, teacher locator, message board and more to the site so check back often!
Who may advertise on the site? Here is just a brief list: string instrument and bow makers, repairers, dealers, string-teaching institutions, colleges and universities, private music schools, summer camps, institutes, workshops, Youth Orchestras, Private Studios, and performing groups “for hire.” Perhaps you are a trio or quartet that plays for weddings and parties? With the holidays coming, this site could be a great place for you to get the word out. If you are an author, why not advertise your string-teaching book on our site?
